    Default My second Joseph Rodgers

    Some days ago I bought this straight Razor on eBay (Buy it now option):


    Scales were from a Wade & Butcher, I suppose, and broken. Blade was very rusty, as you can see:


    After some handmade work, yesterday I finished the restore (it could be better, I know):








    Could someone help me in dating this razor?

    Note: My first Joseph Rodgers was this one

    Beautiful find and an even better restore on her . Congratulations. Looking forward to seeing her debut on SOTD

    As for the date, I would somewhere 1850-1880 or so. Just a guess. They are wonderful shavers

    Blimey that is a sweet job you've done!
    Joseph Rodgers & Sons have got to be my favorites of the vintage razors.

    I like the 2 toned pin/spacer combo.

    What are the scales? Horn? Where did you get the material?

    Yes, it is horn. I bought here. Look for blank plates 160x60x3 mm. With a blank plate you obtain a pair of scales, that is, for one razor. That one I used were from selected. However it's important you buy 3 mm thick. At this time it seems the vendor does not have (?).
