Cigar Smokin' Pieces Parts Wade and Butcher
I finished this one up today after my flea market trip.
This project came in part as a clean up in my shop. I was going through the draws and boxes and found a bunch of odds & ends from different Wade and Butcher razors I had worked on at one time or another.
The scales were chipped and beat up, they even had some initials carved into them. I took them and cleaned them up, filled any of the voids with epoxy and sanded them out back to their original shape. I then added a thin coat of resin to the insides to "flush them up. At this point I glued on a bunch of Cigar rings that I had kickin' around (man do I love a good stick) using marine epoxy. Once this dried I did 8 thin pours of resin then sanded an buffed them out.
The domed washers also came from old W&B scales I had re-done. (I safe everything).
The lead wedge also cam from a W&B.
The blade is W&B Swayback I had picked up awhile ago that someone had reground. I opted to leave it as it was and not do a mirror polish. I think it adds itself to the styling of the overall look.
Enjoy!
