Custom 9/8 Purple Heart Round Point

Here is a 9/8 custom I just finished up this evening using some Purple Heart for scales. Blade is O1. Tang overlay on this one with white tail deer horn. It certainly presented me with a few challenges fitting the overlays. When I finally had it where I wanted it, my original pivot pin felt awkward in the scales. So, I improvised and moved things up a bit. Pined the hole and placed a faux gemstone on each side. I thought about not saying anything about moving the pivot forward as though I "planned" on the gemstones, but I know you guys are smarter than that. :D

At any rate I think I made it work. Two days growth and it shaved like a Champ. Little different than my norm, and as always, opinions welcome. Unless, you just hate it, you can keep that to yourself heehee...

That is one sleek razor, The covered tail and thin wedge really kick ass. It is big and sleek at the same time.

I appreciate the craftsmanship in this. You have a nice finish without rounding all your corners with too much polishing. The edges and corners that should be square and crisp are. Nice design too.

Sweet is becoming the norm for you Kenny. +1 on Charlie's comments and Kudos on recognising the need to move the pin and having guts to do it. You accomplished it brilliantly.

I like how thin the scales are, some people make these bigger razors a little too clunky for my liking.

I can attest to kens work as I was blessed with one of his creations just last week.
His attn to detail is second to none,great work ken:)

That shows in this peice. I look at some custom razors and I see rounded corners and edges where the maker apparently was more concerned with making it shiny than keeping the work clean and crisp. Ken did a great job on this keeping the work clean and crisp. I don't see anythign on this that has been rounded off with a buffer.

Really really clean and the symetry looks dead on as well.

I don't know that I have seen any of Ken's other pieces. Ken do you have a website?

I love the wedge and the flush pins. The wood is gorgeous too. Sweet is the right word to use!

Very nice indeed! Not a big fan of round points but that one just seems to flow so well.

Hey Pixelfixed I did see that one (liked it too). I didnt' realize Kenny had made that one. I guess I haven't been on her elong enought to really recognize everyone enough to connect the dots yet. Thanks for pointing that out.

Hey Bruno, the spine is a scoach under 1/4 so I built it up as necessary when setting the bevel to achieve a 4:1 ratio which is normally what I shoot for. Ken
