Old Razor Restore
I got this one from French Ebay.
I always wanted to try super old straight razors from 1700 or 1800.
On razor it say "Nizerolle" quick search on google showed that is a very small town in France.
I dont know exact date on this one but probably late 1700 or early 1800 ?
I will like to have your opinion on that ??
Instead of polish it up, i decided just to darken it with some Oxal acid to preserve that old look and protect it from rusting more.
For Scales i kept original design and made them from Bog Oak, ancient wood for ancient razor :o) with brass spacer and pins.
I am very happy how it turned out !! :D

Hello,
This razor was made during the Napoleonic area (1800-1815), the shape of the scales is typical from the period !

Beautiful restore. Did you make a new wedge? (I'm assuming it's lead) How does it shave?

Maxim,
I think that the work you did on it is Skilled and Beautiful.
But,
Being as old, as it may be, I would have left it as is. Preserved the original condition as best as I could. This is just my preference, so Please don't take it as though I feel that you did something wrong. You now have a beautiful shaver. JMO
