Rescaled Canadian razor from the 30s

Picked this one up on the bay and I think it is now my favorite razor. From the shape my gut feeling was 1830s - what does everyone think? It's marked SF Foster / Head-Quarters on one side and Montreal on the other, and the blade is absolutely massive, especially the tail. Just finished rescaling in brown horn and bone with an experiment at making slightly domed washers from the big flat brass ones. Shown for comparison with a 5/8 Wosty. I love the chunkiness of it. I love the whole geometry of the blade, from tip to tang. Thick scales were a great choice.

Sorry this one's definitely a keeper. Interesting note on the geometry - the blade seems a little short for its size (2 6/8" at 8/8 width). The toe has been ground down in the past, not sure how much though. But I love the proportions it has now. Haven't gotten time to hone her yet but will post back when I get around to it.

Thanks not only for sharing this with us, but for not buffing out that great patina! I know folks go back and forth on when to buff, but I really like the texture the decades have given this surface. Great work!

Don't think so. The grind is totally symmetrical and slightly hollowed. Did they make microtomes that early?
