Dubl Duck, Goldedge.

This one's for one of our local Toronto boys, MWS. I've not done something quite like this before, an bolster transfer on clear acrylic. The wedge is also clear acrylic, so the whole thing is see through. I don't think my heart beat went below 180 for the whole restore!! :)

The scales had to be sanded to 12000 grit inside and out, as did the wedge. The bolsters fit perfectly, and the third pin is insulated with the white interior of a ball point pen. I didn't want to draw attention to the center of the razor.

Anyway, it was lots of fun.

Krazy Glue and a small paintbrush to avoid any excess leakage. I actually had to bend the Goldedge wording up off the scale and paint a bit at a time. The glue would dry too fast to do the whole thing.

I don't know what to say...I'm speechless! I wanted acrylic scales, that's true - but to see it complete and intact with all the original plating.

She looks brand new. The original scales were cracked at the back pin, I honestly never thought I'd be able to use her again and plain scales just wouldn't do her justice.

The hobby shops have a large array of CA glues in several thicknesses and specific materials they will work on.

Mine also has these cute little disposable droppers with micro fine tips. Next time you should be able to just touch the tip to the junction and the CA will wick in.

They make a very thin CA for this purpose.

It does look like it was done in a factory. Great work.
