Bengalls South of the border.

Apologies. Long time between gallery posts but all I seem to do is Bengalls lately so didn't want to bore any one :p

The m/scope shots are mine.

This is a Bengall made for Ward Bros in Melbourne hence the title.

I don't know who played with this one but it looked kinda sad & seemed to have been 'worked' in less than experienced hands.
Edge was a mess, heel worn to the stabiliser & some toe wear.
Anyhoo needed to do a bit of reshaping at both ends & "fix up" the edge.

Looks more like a razor now & turned out to be a great shaver.

As luck would have it. Had a 2nd one of these turn up the following week & owner lives in Melbourne. Kinda fitting :)
Much better condition & a full 6/8. A light restore starting at 400 grit on the buffs. Pretty razor & shaved as good as it looked. Just a couple of post shots.

Nice work, Oz. Bengalls seem to show up a lot down under. I am working on one now myself. Yours Turned out awesome!

nice thread, i'm new to this site, and new to these types of razors,

I cam across the same razor recently, I have attached some pics for you guys, can anyone recommend how I can restore it, and possibly look at moving it on to someone who can appreciate it,

Also to have that restored for sale will likely leave you with very little profit for your outlay. It will not be a simple restoration & costly.

its a pretty nice razor, i really like it. good score! and nice restore as well.

Dugong why not let onimaru fix it up for you and give this type of razor an honest try yourself ? You may be surprised at what you find out.

It would never take days to restore an edge. It would only be a WAG if i said 2-3 hrs but as you're asking for numbesr that's the best I can offer.

I did 2 yesterday that took me around 3 hrs. That's about as far back as my memory serves me . :)
