Maybe not blued in the sense of how a gun is blued but etches usually involve acid & a degree of darkening or frosting is the result.

Bravo VM. 'Have one unrestored Engstrom frameback and one Helje. The blade profile on the Helje is identical to your Engstrom. A bit delicate, honing that heel, but worth the effort. About the remaining flaws: screw perfect. You did beautiful work, and you'll get better w/ each one. Its a lovely razor and I know its a lovely shaver. Very nicely done!
That blade and those scales look fantastic. Nice save there :)
A minor resurrection of this thread because I found pictures of the razor before I did anything at all to it! :)

The restore pictures are the same ones at the head of the thread. The only thing I've done with it since I started the thread was enjoy shaving with it. :)
once again blown away by the skills of the members of this website, nice work.
That's very nice, excellent work!
What's the difference is between a frameback where the frame is removable and this where the frame is part of the tang? I'm thinking there's three different types of frameback, one where the frame is removable, one like this where the frame is part of the tang, and a faux frameback, where it's actually one piece of steel.
