1800 "Superior Temper" in Horn/Bone
My books are showing this monster 8/8 Full Wedge as ca.1800 England stamped "Superior Temper" I checked with a straight edge and this is the closest I have seen to a true wedge in 5 years...
This razor is also the heaviest Vintage razor I have ever weighed, at 2.5 oz for just the steel, she weighs 3.4 oz all up and yes it still balances to the tang :rofl2: DO NOT try and catch this if ya drop it, you could lose a body part :tameshigiri:
Ryan wanted Black Horn scales with a Bone wedge he actually did most of the steel clean up, I only finished up with the final polishing compounds. between the two of us we have a near perfect mirror now..
I got a little fancy with the wedge and had some fun doing some braided file work, a little tuff on real bone that wants to flake off unless you use a very light touch on the file :)
Pins are Brass along with the internal washers, the externals are Tri-Stacks...
The razor measures just over 7/8 at the heel and just over 8/8 at the widest, my plans are 1k-BBW-Coticule for honing and yes I am using tape :rofl2:
