August, Part I, Horns
I've been pretty busy the last couple weeks, and I've just had a chance to photograph some of the work. After taking the months of June and July off to get married and relax a bit, it was back to full time restoration work on August 1st. Two of these horns are for members (the black ones), and the blonde is for a friend.
Here's the first set. The next two threads will contain G10, micarta, and original restores.

No Probs Eric. I had a lot of fun on that wedge. It was a great piece to work on.

Fantastic work, have yet to work with horn but will one day. When you re-scale Maxi,do you have a set demension between the wedge and the blade tip, looks to be about an 8th in. in the pics above.
I do rescaling of my user blades, always copy the old scales and wedge exactally, the demension above can run 1/8 to 3/8.
Do not think it is an important demension, your thoughts?

I think that dimension depends on a couple factors. If it's an original restore with a new wedge, I copy the old wedge. If it's a custom build, I try to get it as tight as possible. I like it when the blade tip "just" slides by the wedge.
