Nice looking blade Charlie..yours always have a simple elegance to them. And I'm really digging the hamon lines all you guys are putting out lately.
Beautiful razor Charlie. I really like the custom Kamisori-type razors. If only my funds would allow, I'd build a collection of them, but alas...
nice !!! i think id like to try a blade like that at some point ...
Another fine piece of craftsmanship! Thanks for sharing your images!
sweetly done as always Charlie.

Send her my way! haha, it looks great though! The more I look at your razors, the more I want to try to make my own. Your razors are always so unique and on a completely different level than the "normal" looking razor.
I'm wondering though, the wavy line going through the middle of the grind, how do you get that and what is it? I've noticed your razors have that from time to time.
Thank you to everybody for the encouragement.
The line through the blade is a temper line or hamon . I put a layer of clay on the back part of the blade during the hardening process. The clay works as a insulator. When I quench the hot blade into the oil to harden it, the clay covered parts cool at a slower rate. The slower cooling rate makes for a different crystalline structure in the steel. The clay covered area near the spine is less hard than the area near the edge. When the blade is etched in a weak acid the two areas etch differently resulting in the temper line.

Another nice one charlie, your customs are some of my favorites on here. Your grinding and file work is always top notch man. :tu
Great Charlie ! like the Hamon ! :D
Thank you for answering that. Now I'll just have to try to make about 100 razors before I get anything even close to what your making. Nice work!
I like the twist Charlie, very nicely done.

Certain razors I see for the first time I really like them but I just can’t put my finger on why.
This is one of these razors.
Let me think.
Perhaps because it has clean and simple lines and looks like it was forged by a talented blacksmith 200 years ago but what makes it unique is the twist which is decorative but not overly so.
The next beautiful and creative work.
I do not know how it is in your hand, but wanting have a shave should be plenty.
I like it.
Thank you guys for the kind words and encouragement.
Here is a bit of video showing how this style razor fits in my hand.
