This is really nice. Great work.
How did you do he satin finish? It looks great!
BTW what kind of hammer is that in the pics? Looks cool too.
I have wondered the same thing, in other pics I have seen the makers name Starrett. With that I searched Starrett Tool Hammer and got this as one of my results, 815 Toolmakers
That is a stupidly expensive LS Starrett #815, it was a gift from one of the old members here many years ago, I cherish it, as I would probably have never bought it for myself, I honestly like it to much to use it in the shop, so I use it in many of my pics :)
The Finish was done on my buffers using 400 and 600 grit greaseless to take out the old dremel marks and even up the marks, and then I used some Red Chrome polish on a buffer to add the Glow to the Satin
Glen,
Besides that I really like this razor, it works as an example of what you could do with the one I sent you. Can you get it to look like this one? BTW, did you get my email letting you know that your message box is full on the SRP site?
One more thing, you can have the hammer, I want that cool little anvil!!
Thanks Don, I just went and erased a few hundred old messages, hey next time it is full can ya send me a PM to let me know :rofl2:
And yes your razor has the potential to look as good :)
Very, very nice Glen. That satin look is much better (IMHO) than all the bling bling that's been going around.
Sweet razor too. Got two WB FBU's and cherish them. :)
A period correct finish & scales. That restoration is well done. :tu
Excellent work! I'm definitely digging the satin finish and the close to original look.
