Fixed up Duck
Yesterday I received a Dubl Duck Goldedge in the mail that had a rather large chip missing from the toe of the blade. I didnt polish the blade or anything, I just removed the entire toe of the blade, rounded the spine back over a bit, muted the squared point, and honed it. I havent shaved tested it yet, so I cant comment on the shave-ability of this one just yet. Anyway, heres some razor p0rn to show the resurrected Duck.

Looks like the best thing you could have done, Tex. It should make a good "shorty" !
-
Well given the reputation of these Ducks, Im hoping this one turns out to be a fine shaver. The blade isnt as short as some of my others, but it is a damn nice looking razor.
-
Nice work indeed, shorty's are a blast to shave with!
-
Now you have a Bresduck Dwarf or a Pearlduck Special #1. Same blade (.010" thick) w/ shorter cutting edge length and usually more plain jane scales. You have the nicer scales, and it should shave like a house afire.
-
looks good .. all my ducks are good shavers and im sure this one will be also !!
-
Im not sure of blade length on those others Pinklather, but I just measured this one and the shortened blade comes in at exactly 2 7/16" on the cutting edge.
Anyone know roughly how old these things are?
-
my
Bresnick DWARF= 2 1/2"
Bresduck DWARF= 2 7/16"
Pearlduck Special #1 = 2 13/16"
not that it matters but i like to shave with my DWARFS !!!!

Hot damn!! Im gonna pretend that I knew the length of the Dwarf going into this and that I planned it that way. Haha. Just yall dont go telling anybody now. :hmmm:
