Bartputzer reshape and rescale
My third restore attempt. The surface is still a little scratchy as I finished with 800 grit sandpaper. I'm waiting for finer sandpaper to arrive, but until such time, I'm happy with the results.
The scales were black celluloid painted old people's brown. It gave a hell of a smell when I scratched it while unpinning. And then it looked like this, not bad, but could do with a little sanding and polishing:

I carefully attacked it with self-made sanding drums on my Dremel and it worked out nicely. As I said, a bit scratchy because of the 800 grit finish, but not the dreaded wavy pattern. I made the scales from an unknown type of wood and left them a little unperfect, because I liked the "natural" look of it.

The wedge is bone. First time I worked with bone. I had not expected the smell while sawing a piece off! I'm not sure if I'll do it again, maybe white plastic looks just as good.
