Here is a blade I have finished up. It is 1095, forged to shape then ground. The scales are stabilized box elder.

Very nice work Charlie. The twisted tang, hamon, and the squareness of blade are really striking and there's something about the scales that keep me looking at them.
Absolutely beautiful Charlie. The colors and shapes of the steel and the wood look like they were born to be joined. Wow!
The wood is not really for me, but the blade is just plain awesome!
