Stabilizied buckeye burl scales with a Morley blade

I did a polyurethane finish on this guy and it finally cured. Gotta love the humid Florida climate. I want to thank Mastershake and floppyshoes for offering advice on how to best apply the polyurethane, as well as the others who contributed in the thread. I also want to thank CaliforniaCajun who very graciously honed the blade on this free of charge. Last but not least, I want to thank pfries for sending me a handful of brass thrust washers - I used them on this razor.

I'm sure this is stated a lot, but the pictures don't do the razor justice. I'll try to get some pictures in natural sunlight tomorrow and see how it comes out. I managed to pick up the blade at an antique shop some months back and used a bit of mothers. Other than that, it only required a honing.

What did you use for the wedge?

It's buckeye burl from the slats I cut off. I had enough scrap from cutting the scales out and I figured the black/light tan would bring it all together. I was actually surprised how much I like these scales :y

Great job! I'm a sucker for figured wood scales. I just happen to have bought a Joseph Allen & Sons from Mastershake a couple months ago. He re-scaled it with his own buckeye burl. This guy knows what he's doing.
