Frederick Reynolds Celebrated FBU in Streaked Horn
Here is a 13/16" FBU that I have been wanting to rescale for a while. When I recieved it the original(maybe) scales were cracked at both pins, but were salvagable to keep as a template. So, after a couple attempts at scales with some G10 and Micarta, I felt comforatble enough to start on this Buffalo Horn. Being relegated to the corner of the laundry room, my selection of tools isn't the broadest, and after an argument with my random orbit sander(all I've got for now)involving some micarta, I decided to take my time and do these all manually.
So here it is, handed shaped and polished, nickel silver pins with brass washers and the old lead wedge. Admittedly, I would have liked to thin the scales down a bit, but given the thickness of the spine, I hope they're not too disproportionate. Once SWMBO gets me a belt sander for our 10th I can do better
Also, thank you to all those who have posted articles/ threads in regards to working the horn
