W. Greaves & sons 8/8+,,, Not in Honey Horn :)

Jon sent this one out to me for a restore, we were hoping to save the Vintage Horn scales but that just wasn't to be, they were just too far gone..

He had asked about using G10, and when I explained there was a new color available that should resemble Honey Horn when polished, it was a go.


W.Greaves & Sons Near Wedge just under 9/8 size.

Polished to a Satin Glow finish

Scales are one of the new colors at Masecraft "Gold Translucent" they are down to .105 thickness now

Wedge, Pins and Double Stack Washers are all Solid Brass

Honing Chosera 1-5-10, Select Coticule finish...

The scale material looks great Glen and it sets off the blade and your work on it perfectly.

I have to agree not a bad substitute to honey horn, and the job is top notch!

Glen, I have to say that the scale material is not my favourite - it's just too honey coloured for my liking. However, the third picture grabs your attention because of the wedge - nothing else counts - just superb

I like the color of the scales, it's nicely paired with the wedge.
Really nice restore job. I personally like crisper lines of the vintage razors in the original condition, but completely understand that for sake or removing all the patina some things need to be smoothed out.

Another excellent restore Glen. The G10 turned out really well. Congrats to the owner and well done Glen.

Received the Greaves in the mail yesterday, took her for a shave this morning and WOW...very smooth. You put some nice edges on those vintage blades! It mowed through 3 days of growth like butter :)
