Angry No razors or hones in perth

Three years ago, i didn't have too many problems finding stones and razors in Perth. I stopped hunting for 12-24 months and now that I've started again there is suddenly nothing at all available 'or' the gear is soo over prised its a joke!

I found a hard white Arkansas for $95 (What a joke)
    Several worn razors for $75+
Some chopped up Strops not worth $1

When i ask about the prices i get the same answers.. "They sell for that price so the price is firm" or "someone cleaned me out earlier in the week, sorry i have nothing left"

Are any of you other Perth guys going to the second hand stores, are you finding the same thing or are you guys the ones purchasing it all and hiking up the prices!!!

What has happend!!!! Who is buying all the razors and hones that should be left for meeee!!! hehe

I don't really hunt, but I do look in the op shops etc. I haven't tried any if the tat merchants, sorry antiques stores in Guildford but I know that they import a lot of their stuff from the UK and sell it for ridiculous prices so I wouldn't really bother unless I am out on the treadly and they are open.

There is one store in Guildford who seems ok sometimes (right one), picked up a barbers hone only a few weeks ago for $35.. But that's about it.

The $95 White Arkansas was in one of the Guildford stores (middle one) I told the guy these sell for $40 eBay and asked if would budge on the price at all but he came back and said "I'm here to make money, I know I can sell it for $95 and I only just turned down another guy who offered $85" WTF - who offers $85 for a $40 stone.

Over the last few weeks I recon I've been to every store in perth and I can't find a thing worth buying for a reasonable price

Are you including that little one at the Midland end, if I remember it is the other side of the.lights from the other two, then there is the big one that has a really badly installed solar system on the front verandah, not sure how the Guildford historical society let that one pass. There is also a place near the rose and crown, over the road. And there is the place round the corner from the deli in a courtyard. I can't imagine who buys most of their overpriced rubbish.

I was recently in NZ and saw a barber/cigar shop with a sign saying that they sold straights. So in I went and recognised the destintive markings of a Dovo Bismark, thinking the NZ paso being what it is there might be a bargain to be had, I asked to look at the the price tag wich was $1,350NZ. I could not believe what they were asking. There is definitely a market in the US but everyone is on the hunt by the looks of it.

I only went to the three in the row in guildford, Ill have to have a look at the other two.

I also went to 3 in e|East Fremantle, the one on Canning hwy and the one in Mt Lawley. After getting no where i started phoning around and still got no where.

The guildford store to the left (Jones or something), the two little ladies in there need some serious HRT, they are so damn rude!

Yeah, I thought that maybe it was a NOS DD lifetime in disguise, it is still $1,166.3234 AUD. A bit rich considering the 100% mark up on a shave ready import.

Yeah even amongst the other dealers Jonesy has a reputation, he also has the rubbish solar instal.and I think the three I mentioned you missed. Good luck on your quest, though I will be back from Karratha on Wednesday, so I would get there quick if I were you....

There is one in Kelmscott also. Had a w&b with badly worn toe for 60. My sister was big into antiques and told me of shops but all over priced or no stock. Apparently people collect them to put on a shelf and never use them.whod a figured. Oh and they pay a reasonable price too cos there antique. Ha idiots. I use the bay as can get good razors for cheap prices and no running around for nothing. There ajs in Perth has trans ark 6x2 for 66.
My wife calls me......... Can you just use Ed
