Honestly, in a big country like ours with a sparsely scattered membership Skype's an awesome option. The problem is you need to pay for the premium service to get the "conference call" thing happening (unless you use multiple computers).

Or maybe we could pass around the hat to work up the return airfare for Ed. Or maybe bus fare. I hear taking a bus across the nullarbor plain is not at all tedious...

Driving across was ok, but i wouldnt want to make a hobby of it. I haven't had a lot of luck with skype, it seems to keep freezing up on me.

I've got fibre internet here, so we can get a good skype connection on the Brisbane End...

Easy street parking, and also happy to buy a carton or 2 to enjoy a cold beer for anyone wanting to hang around for a while after the handling of sharp razors is over.

My house isn't anything flash but can arrange undercover seating for a dozen or so people.

Im still flexible re the date...

If everyone wants to post their preferred date, will set the date as majority vote, unless anyone posts a date they cannot attend in which case we can avoid that date.

I've got a wood stabilisation setup on order, should arrive by July (on backorder), so if anyone has wood scale blanks they want to stabilise, please bring them along. Just have cut to size and shape and we'll put them in the vacuum & solution when everyone arrives and can have completed by the end of the meetup - just need to get a cheap toaster oven still to set the resin or whatever is in the solution. If anyone has recommendations on a good toaster oven with accurate temperature control please let me know. If anyone has horn scales needing neatsfoot, Im keen on trying that in the vacuum setup as well to see how it works, sucking the oil deep into the horn, but not sure what the outcome would be... will be interesting to try.

Also, if anyone would prefer not to meet at my place, Im fine with meeting at another venue.

Will be great to see everyone again, I enjoyed meeting you all at the last catch up.

Im happy to sign up for the premium service for a month to allow conference mode. Would be great to have Ed, Oz or others "virtually join in"

I see a Maestro in the making with this one Ed. He's smart and willing to get even smarter with more lernin'! I'll put myself down to come along. Flexible with the day at this point in time too.
