I think I will in future. I do not mind skirting the Australia Tax.

No, haven't tried him out. Sounds good though.

If you just need to do one or two items then I am sure there would be someone here on SRP who would be willing to help out. I know I have helped an individual in Canada, don't see how it would be worse helping one of our friends in Oz (besides the greater shipping charges). If someone needs a hand with shipping, send me PM.
The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.

MattCB probably has the best option, but there is this company that does exactly that: MyUS.com - #1 International Shipping, Mail and Package Forwarding Service - MyUS.com

There shipping costs are quite expensive though... but if you're desperate and it's US only shipping it's an option.

I'm lucky that I have family in the US, so we're always bringing packages in. Next time I get something sent over I'll see if any of the users in Aus want something brought over.

Unless you spend $999 it's unlikely to get hit with GST.

By Australia tax I mean the disproportionately high price for the same good here as compared to other parts of the world. See electronic goods for a great example. I cannot figure that out at all

Andrew, the trouble is we don't make a lot of what we want....which means shipping costs, import duties, profit to the importer, etc...................

I remember when you could buy a return ticket to Hawaii & buy a Mac laptop cheaper than you could buy one in Oz.

There's plenty of fish in the sea - I decided long ago....(never to walk in anyone's shadow).... no, seriously I decided long ago that if someone doesn't offer shipping to Aus then I don't waste my money on their stuff. It's not hard to ship legal things internationally. You have contacted the seller and made sure they didn't just forget to say they'd ship internationally, right?

Or is there something else going on? Is there a hidden part of ebay that only USsians can access, or are you trying to import into Australia something that is not legally allowed to be shipped outside the US?
