    Default Where to buy glycerine?

Anyone know where you can get glycerine from? The pharmacy's seem to be phasing it out. When i did buy it was very expensive for such small amounts.

In my neck of the woods health food stores sometimes carry it. Still get it at pharmacies here too. We used to use it to mix tattoo ink back in the old days. And you wondered why it itched when it was healing.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I found a two ounce bottle for about $1.25 at le gourmet chef, says it will help keep my frosting from changing color but I figure glycerine is glycerine no matter what use it's sold for. Also I get the added benefit of knowing it's safe to eat, so incase I start having chest pains while shaving I'll just take a sip.

FYI, glycerine and glycerol are synonymous and BP simply stands for British Pharmacopeia, meaning it meets British pharmaceutical standards.

I get mine from Coles, I think Woolworths have it to. Have a good look around the medicine isle, my Coles have it on the bottom shelf in a 200mm bottle, that look just like this one but I think the label was brown, and obvoiusly it says Glycerine not paraffin.

Try the large hobby stores, you should be able to find it in the soapmaking section.
