Any of you boys know a brand of Supa Glue that works well for a CA finish on wood scales and is readily available here? This is my first attempt at wood scales.

What cha trying to do mate?
Mick
I've made a pair of red cedar burl scales and I thought I'd give the CA finish a go.

Well 'Tarzans Grip' Super glue seems fairly thin...Keep in mind I haven't done this process before. Are you doing a straight CA or are you adding Boiled Linseed Oil (BLO) to the mix? You lose gloss with the BLO added from what I've researched.
Mick
Just a straight CA finish like gssixgun did in the workshop sticky recently.

Not sure where ya located, but i get my stuff from carrolls woodcraft (http://http://www.cws.au.com). I use hott stuff red for filling cracks (its a thin CA), and super T yellow for medium CA work.
Pretty much any woodturning supply place should have what you are after as its also used for finishes on turned items.
Hope that helps.
Hey Grant sorry I'm late on this but most of the name CA's are ok. Just stay away from the 'home' brand stuff at Woolies etc. tho I've fumbled my way with the cheapo ones too.
Loctite make some "low bloom" CA's 403 is a thicker one , 408 & 460 are low viscosity.
I haven't tried the Zap-A-Gap range but I believe they are low bloom also.
Thanks mate. I'll try them next time. Its all finished. Keep your eyes out on the custom builts and restorations thread.
