    Default Honemeister in Australia?

Hi guys, I am seeking help to get my razor shave ready. I am in Adelaide & don't think I can get the blade up to a level where I can start learning to shave. I have had a crack at honing with king 1/6 and norton 4/8, but can't get better than a very rough shave. There is a bit of a warp in the blade, which is not really helping matters. Without the experience, I am not sure how big an issue the warp is and I don't want to waste any more time on honing really. I thought it would be easier that it turned out to be. I should really have listened to the good advice in the wiki and not even bought the norton maybe.

Any help with getting my blade sharp would be appreciated.

    Cheers,
    edna

Edna, +1 for Onimaru. His resto work is impressive also.

If you're close enough to visit in person, I'm jealous. 'Would love to meet Oz. He's been incredibly helpful for this struggling Noob in learning honing and jnats in particular.

G'day edna, I will also vouch for Os (Onimaru55)...You didn't mention what razor you have, may I ask what it is? Os, by the way, is in Sydney. A little too far to pop in for a coffee perhaps, but close enough that the postie doesn't have to pedal too many days to deliver your razor to him.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I posted the razor off to Os yesterday and eagerly await his response. After noticing the warp, I had fears that it wouldn't be too good to shave with. I am crossing my fingers that it will be ok.

Mickr, here is the razor in question:

Thanks for the link. I did read that post. You did well on the restore. If it isn't a go-er for shaving, at least it will be a great mantle piece display, and focus as a talking point.

Don't trust the fellas from Oz..They all drink to much..but it you insist, just look for the ones with the scarred a hands and the slightly crazed looks....Of course that doesn't really narrow it down....Never mnd then just ask an Aussie here, they are top knotch fellows.
