:rofl2:that's what she said.
One that confuses me is "mickey mouse" rhyming with grouse ie good, but can also mean dodgy.or maybe only means dodgy back in UK, been here 6 and a bit years going for citizenship soon so should probably nail this one.
Marmite made down here i think tastes different to english marmite, we had an earthquake a while back, which destroyed the factory, the country was in an uproar, small jars were fetching $75 (about US$60) on a local website. It is only just getting back on the shelves. Nice on buttered toast, a teaspoonful in gravy is yum. Full of vitamin B, great for a hang over. It is a bit of an acquired taste.
Its also really good under the cheese on cheese on toast. My cheese on toast special used to be vintage cheddar, sliced ham, spring onion, marmite, English mustard. Spread the marmite and mustard onto the untoasted side of your bread (i used to do stripes OCD?) put finely chopped onion on then bits of ham all covered in a load of grated cheese. Grill until molten, hounded a lot of cheese or the bread burns. Though now I prefer to go down the sandwich press route, this allows you to get a healthy(?) Layer of butter on the outside too, thus adding to the oily goodness.
Hope the butter doesn't get rancid before it get's here ?
I use my empty Marmite jars for spice jars, they work great !:)
I know nightblade has a good stash of tea, and i was presuming everyone else had their own bread and butter, this offer is for marmite only, if i prepare it for you, it won't make it to the mail box (yum).
