WW243, I( can't thank you enough for your post. I am an artist. I do fabric wall hangings. I'm currently in the conceptual stages of a new hanging and was thinking about what fabrics I wanted to use. What this link does for me is like an explosion in a paint factory. Color and texture combinations I wouldn't have considered are now in the forefront. These pics are both inspiration and consternation in the sense of trying to achieve the like in fabric. The hanging will be about four feet square, and based on this new visual input I expect it will take me better than a year to finalize. Maybe more since I just finished one a fourth that size and it took me a year to get what I wanted visually. (I use to be an oil painter and am set in doing, redoing and painting over to get the effect wanted. In sewing it's constant sew and un-sew and interchange fabrics till goal achieved.)
Thank you for my future frustration (and that is a good thing in a creative person since it opens many, many more paths to the finish.)
I enjoyed it very much, thank you. :D
That was very interesting and a project that would be next to impossible to do without the digital process. Just amazing.

That is very cool, but my main interest in insects (living in mosquito/tick alley) is still swatting them or stepping on them before they bite me.
When you think of the file size each frame is when shooting NEF files and the gigantic number he digitally composited for a single image it is staggering. Then up res them to a file size suitable for printing that large and viewing at a close distance without falling apart. That would be enough to gag most PCs I would think. Not easy or cheap to produce that work.

I guess youll be doing the same thing soon with your new gear Bill. You might invest however in a stronger tripod, or perhaps a front end loader.
