    Thanks gents,,,
Always good to know you guys have my back and yeah it’s some dickhead for sure, cause the thing isn’t offensive and has weathered well, like still perfect. I could,, and may argue with the city on the angle it’s no different than a gazebo like folks put in their yards but in front of my garage door.
But I also can use this as the push to lay paint. I planned on taking it down before winter anyway and only must have it till then so like Tom said, use it as a purge point before the last push.
So to get there I need to finish my front end.

From left to right, mgb old first two, my TD’s second two, and the new one on the right that’s supposed to be for my car.
Well no, that won’t work at all.

But after using the above spring height information and testing the originals under load on our hydraulic press, the originals are still exactly to spec!

So they are going back on after a paint job.

Bastards! I hate that shit. I had some f*@# stick complain about something BEHIND my privacy fence. That's means your nosey ass was trespassing on my property peering over my fence. Lucky they didn't get their dumbass shot...which is exactly what I told the city inspector and that if I caught them I would have them arrested.

Well, while taller in free length, the wire size seems smaller. Might be best in a modern setting.
Always easy to take away after some trials. Clapped-out springs suck.. Can't put it back!
You HAVE put the motor forward?

All I can think is I bought mgb springs by mistake and from what I’ve read they will work but the front end will ride higher by 1.5-2”, about the difference in height basically.
Biggest issue for me is they are too long to get over the cupped base in the spring pan and the one inside the front k frame due to their span.
Unless I can figure a way to get a spring compressor on them I’ll have to use my originals as I cannot use the old “squeeze the A frames with a Jack” trick with the longer springs. Been trying tonight and the length, uncompressed makes it impossible to start..

I put new springs in my Tiger once. A fair bit longer free length. Had to compress them some to get things started. Worked out fine.
You might do some checking. Had to use a compressor on either side. I hate compressing springs but most all will not go in using the floor jack method FME.

I agree that with a compressor they should work. Almost knocked the car of its stands last night trying to compress the originals with a Jack alone so,,,,
And on the shed front, I had a good chat with the city inspector today. I have till the snow flies now to get this done!

Good to be both persuasive, and intense sometimes, hehehe.
