Also have a pair of fine tweezers on hand….just in case a bug shows up.
A busy day, long in the making.
Waited for the fumes to clear before seeing the results.

Lost the day, so will need to let things cure and clear coat later. This way I can hit some of the blemishes, well the entire panels with 600 wet before applying the clear.
Couldn’t avoid the odd bug and dust bunny so a partial cut and colour makes sense whichever way I go.
Happy with the colors depth and finish though so far.
Black looks deepest in single stage paint I personally think
The green, took more to evenly cover than expected and I used the whole quart, but it is exactly what I was envisioning.
Big benchmark passed today gents.
Bourbon time.
:tu
I may buy another quart of the green tbh.
I didn’t expect the quart to not be enough, and technically, I’m done, but I would like to hit the inside door edges and rear, or inside surfaces of the bonnets again, not fully saturated with colour there. I believe trim will cover the doors, but just in case, how’s the time to put on more, not less paint.
The torpedo faster flash heats up,the space very well and with the smaller fan running, air is moving but not cold.
Should be able to squeak an extra couple warm paintable days out maybe!
It’s a wonder you didn’t fall / trip…or drag the air hose …into any of the panels….lol ….you must have been a gymnast in your youth !
Why yes, I was, hehe! Graceful like lemur!

I treat the air line like a tig torch, one wrap around the forearm and it runs up my arm and down my back.
Never goes where I don’t want..unlike the dust bunnies.
Ya know the term tickled, but tired? That’s me.
Finished the fenders and runners, in one more coat of black, then I hit it with clear a few hours later, dialed in my green ghost pearl powder to where I wanted it and gave it a go.
Tested the effect on some test car molds a few times as I started with virtually no additive then slowly worked my way up to about 1/8 teaspoon in 650 ml of clear coat.

I didn’t want bass boat sparkle, but did want the green tone to catch the light, but still look dark in the shadows or at night. .
Can just see the edge in the shaded garage.

And under bright light it pops.

And the shading and brilliance changes with the lighting, it’s what pearl does, and I like it.

3 total coats of s.s. black, then 3 coats of clear with the pearls in the mid coat.
These are done.
Tomorrow, one more coat of green, then clear on the body. No pearl on the green intended although I might throw some on a test mold just to see...
Gonna seem a long wait now till it is all connected and I can see if the colors work together..
Cheers and happy Monday men.
