That 3D stuff is pricey, over a Hun per bottle! But at the rate you apply it, I can leave the rest of the bottles in my will, hehe.

Well Mike, when it comes to paint ain’t nothing cheap when it comes to the finish, people often get uptight when I tell them a decent paint job on a Harley,( a tank and 2 fenders ) 1500-3000. Last winter on my own bike, just in material, I had 550, and had a lot of the hardware, but good paint and primer you already know, I’m going to check out this compound myself. So much of the end product relies on cut and polish
results looks impressive in their videos for sure.
And I have no qualms spending money well.
Ness’s years of polishing counts as a learned opinion and so far his tips have probably saved me some grief, so I ordered some from the 3D Cdn supply site this evening.
My black vw would benefit from some swirl reduction when I’m done as well.
:tu
You need a Rotary Buffer for the initial cut and polish….then you also need an oscillating buffer for the polish step too. That’s the step that removes them nasty swirl marks….Then put on the final step on with the oscillating buffer also. Just have plenty of micro fiber towels on hand
Would a 6” pneumatic da sander with a soft pad work in lieu of the da polisher? Only have a 7” rotary variable speed buffer.
Also get the backer and wool pad from 3D…to apply their 1st cut compound….then get the 6 inch Purple foam pad for Step 2 polish ..with the rotary buffah. Black 6 inch spider cut foam pad for the DA
50per bottle should only be maybe 65 CDN, Damn they are marking shit up just to sell it up here, grrr. It’s twice that, plus local taxes.
Those spider pads go for 25 each etc, etc.
They do offer free shipping though,,, lol,, the gall..
Seeing as now I can’t touch the paint for a bit.
I Done got my steering rack back in and damn if I can’t make the tires toe in, or out now!,,
It’s a good day when you can adjust your alignment again..
