Funny how many purists have already suggested I remove them as they weren’t offered by MG..
Geez what a fussy bunch purists are.
Car is away tonight, locked up in a shop getting anew exhaust installed tomorrow.
So a down night for Mikey. Can make a dent on the garage.

With all the work you have done with this project why did you hire the exhaust?

The exhaust need be custom now thanks to the engine relocation, and needs tools, hydraulic benders and the like I don’t have. I do have limits to what I will attempt at home ya know,,
Besides, I need the car away a day or so so I can clean up the shop some.
Funny story that the exhaust shop is affiliated with the shop in town that did the alignment. Evidently all the mechanics at the shop yesterday were all over my car and told the exhaust shop that it’s the nicest mg they’ve ever had in the bay.
That right there made my day gents. Validation from the crews that know.

I'm sure that those kind of comments will be quite common my friend. You've done a fantastic job on the MG and you are right to be proud--

Only update is the exhaust is delayed, due to parts shortages, but measured, planned and ordered. And they were kind enough to give me back the car for the long weekend so I can dial her in more.
Rebuild the speedo again as there was crud under the glass and now or never I figure. Also realized it reads fast by about 10% compared to the the phone gps, so I’ve been over reporting my speeds..
Going to use the weekend to tear down the top and window frames as they need sandblasting and some weld repairs before being reinstalled. I know it’ll bug me until the top and tonneau are also complete as until then I cannot call her truly completed.
The two days vacation I gave back this week I’m taking the start of next, so I have a 5 day weekend ahead of me gents!,!

Never really thought about it but how does a person go about recalibrating a speedo to make it more accurate, except for changing the tyre size etc?

On old smith gauges it’s a matter of pushing the car a measured distance, counting the cable rotations while you do, figure the math out as cable rotations per kilometer, do the math on what your car’s cable does, then send the speedo out, with that info to an instrumentation shop that changes the internal gearing to match your car..
Should have been done when they installed the triumph gauges in the mg, and certainly after the new rear diff and tyre upgrade. So I will wait till the proper tyres for the car are installed and revisit the math.
I may have mine sent away over the off season, depending on how off it is then.
Rain for the next day or so, so no driving, all shop work. Focus on the weather gear now.
    Cheers.

10% is easy to do in your head, 16.7% might be a little harder.
