Damn, looking at the only places without high humidity on our continent, they are all even north of me!
    Stay cool gents.
I decided to pull my oil filter adapter and change its gasket too, just in case. Eliminate everything, even replacing the copper washers for the oil pressure gage feed line.

Well, zero pan leaks any longer! Still have one drip up front that may be coming off the front crank seal and is almost non existent but everything removed again, is now seemingly drip free. I’ll call that a win and see how the driveway looks in the am.
    Cheers gents.

Recently I was watching an old episode of Magnum PI and he pulled into a parking lot and every spot had a big residual oil stain in the middle of it. You forget driving modern cars that just that short time ago all the cars leaked something be it oil, tranny fluid, power steering fluid, anti freeze...maybe even rear end oil. It reminds me of the old Muddy Waters tune "Rollin' Stone" he sings "gonna catch the first thing smokin' by." It could mean a train or a boat or a car because every motorized machine smoked back then.

Some things really have changed for the better.

Decided that I needed to add a pan to catch the rear seal leaks cause they are gonna be around till I pull the crankshaft and replace that old style seal.

1/4” retention bolt and some s.s. Strapping later.
Note the rubber gasket on the pan to prevent rattling.

Connected to twotranny bolts and flexes with the engine so should be quiet and snug.

Should keep her continent until I rebuild her engine and tranny next winter. And no unsightly stains where she rests..
    Cheers gents.

Your crazy mike. I bought a washable pad that is 24x48 and it sits on the floor of my garage. Works just fine and if it gets too oily i can wash it out.

Your car has a diaper. Funny.
BTW, I use those pads at work. We call them fuel diapers.

That makes me mildly curious as to how you intend to handle that if ever you personally need continence help in the future. Only rhetorically curious though. Please don't demonstrate.

Jerry, I was more concerned about other folks driveways then my own. Having the tray travel with the car makes for the most practical and convenient protection i figure.
When I think she’s full, I just undo the nut, slide out the tray and replace the diaper. Figure one cleaning per season should suffice, and if all goes to plan, and I do perform a tear down this winter, then the leak will be dealt with then, and I won’t need it next, or subsequent seasons..

I get it. I guess I never park in other people's driveways. Parking lots are normally black-top so a little oil is not a bad thing. My oil leak is so tiny that I could use a folded kleenex. I get one or two drips then it stops. Very ingenious of you.
