Ancient history but my uncle had a chicken farm upstate N.Y. When I was a lad I used to spend summers up there helping them tend the farm.
I have fond memories chasing the chickens around with a shovel trying to chop their heads off.
daughter raises them and she doesn't think its tough they kinda raise their selves.. she lets them roam around the yard locks them up at night only feed em water em, make sure to you get the eggs and eat the ones who don't lay Tc
Tending the chickens was one of my jobs growing up. Feed. Water. Kill. Clean. Hate the critters LOL. Col Sanders was my hero. Low maintenance really though.

I used to raise Fighting chickens, a fun project and mighty nice looking birds. We would eat the losers on the weekends.
