Just too many idiots on the road for me any more to be riding on 2 wheels. But i have lots of great memories.
Man, how refreshing is it to read about people coming together and getting to know each other! Fantastic!
EDIT - I’m with you re the bike gasman. Except it’s not others I’m worried about anymore, rather I’m worried about myself.
When I moved to KS I was so excited to be able to ride nearly year round. I took a refresher course over at HD. Just before the road test, the instructor told me to go a little faster into the corner. I was like oh heck yeah, no problem. Until upon executing, I went way to fast and rather than leaning in, I tapped my front break!! I literally went airborne!!
I coun’t take the road test being my right hand no longer worked and the blood dripping down my right leg was in poor form. I decided right there I had gotten too old and lost my edge. I let go of the dream.
Well the Boars Nest had eaten the cast iron dutch oven and the cast aluminum lid but I found them and the brass knob is installed.

My daughter's birthday isn't until the middle of September so I'll be giving her this early. I have a special gift for the actual day.
Looks nice Roy!:tu:tu bet it makes you wish you had a lathe.
When Joel and I were exploring the design options I felt that the 'Normal' length of knobs or even the handles found on cast iron lids were way too small to get a good grip when I had a decent pot holder--thus the length.
While I haven't actually used the lid I have played with various pot holders and it's going to serve my daughter and generations to come well. :tu
good for you Randy,, its a wonderful life on 2 wheels,, and if the idiots give you too much trouble do a I do , carry a .45, contrary to that other saying form the peanut gallery,, "never impede on a biker with a temper and a .45, its never a good idea. truck or car" Tc
