Guns that won the west?

I was in my safe here this evening looking for a particular handgun and came across these handguns and this rifle representing a time long ago from the past:

This rifle is a model 94 Winchester, but produced by Sears & Roebuck under the name "Ted Williams Model 100". It was produced in 1971 by Winchester for Sears. chambered in 30/30 Win. (You've seen it before)

The two handguns below the Model 94 are 1873 SAA Colt's produced by (Ubertti)in the 1960's.

The first handgun has a 7" barrel and was mainly used by the Army Calvary back then. Stamped Cimarron Arms out of Houston Texas on the barrel. Shoots a 44/40 caliber.

The other handgun is produced by (Ubertti)in the 1960's too. This handgun has a 5" barrel and was mainly used by civilians as a sidearm. Stamped Navy Arms Co. on the barrel. Shoots a 44/40 caliber as well.

I thought you guys would appreciate these as much as I do! It's all about History!

Nice set, John. Always wanted a .36 & .44 cal. Black powder revolver.

I do like my pietta made 1858 Remington .44 it's a whole lot of fun to shoot. I mean I'm not exactly a sharp shooter with it, but I do enjoy.

These are the only 2 Winchesters I have.

The biggest mistakes I made with selling guns

Bought a SSA Colt was made in 1902 that had "Issues" for $200
I fixed the issues and sold it for $1200

Had two sets

Marlin Octagonal barrel 45LC rifle
Ruger Vaquero 45LC pistol

Marlin 44 mag Rifle
S&W Model 29

I sold both sets to friends that had horses that really really wanted them
Yes I made money but the Friend Price I gave them was well below market
Both of them sold the sets for market in less than 1 year :(

I have one set now

Marlin 1895 Guide Gun 2000 model with the Factory Magna Ports in 45-70
S&W model 25 45LC

They had a little bit of metal left over from the receiver. So they made it into a straight razor! That is a nice old original Winchester you have there Paul! Is it a shooter?

Yeah, except the rounds are around $3 a pop or a pow if you prefer. In this case it's very little bang for the buck. Or maybe it's a lot of buck for your bang

Glen who made that knife you have there? It is similar to one I own not in style but in construction.

Mine is a Rigid made in USA but I really doubt it is the same Rigid that makes the tools.

It is a Rigid, one of the only gifts my CraCra ex-Girlfriend ever bought me that was worth a crap LOL

It has been a great hunting knife since I got it back in "89" ish

Have you seen the crazy prices they are bringing on eBay ???

I have a good chunk of roofing lead. I need to get myself a cast and I can start making rounds for my remington

YES! Insane what they are asking. Mine was a gift from my morther-in-law and had belonged to my late father-in-law whom I loved like my own father. Nice to see that things you own are considered valuable even though I would never sell it.

I suppose this fits. Every old west movie featured a short, twice-barreled shotgun and I would bet real life back then did too.
This is a Rossi Overland I inherited from a friend who did 'cowboy shoots' back in the 80's. It has 20" barrels and takes 20 ga 2 3/4 and 3 inchers.
A trigger and a hammer for each side, one full and the other modified chokes. It has extractors and no ejectors so you have to pull them out, just like back when.
Solid and sturdy, it was made in Brazil and discontinued in 1988. Pretty desirable nowadays.
I don't have a stagecoach or a bar to keep it under but it is kept handy with #3 buck for nerdowells around my casa.

I used to have a S & W 625 in .45 ACP before the UK Government decided we should not have handguns. I've still got my Winchester 94AE in .38/.357 which I shoot now and again; It's not old, I bought it used about 25 years ago. We Brits tend to have some fondness for Webley, Lee Enfield and other defunct British brands.

Those are all outstanding weapons! I especially am fond of the 303 British Enfield.

Quite a few years ago DCRA, Dominion of Canada Rifle Association, rifle shooters preferred their long-range rifle use a Lee Enfield action with a heavy 7.62 Nato barrel shanked on to it. You were issued 7.62 ball for the match with ranges to 1000 yards using micrometer sights. The rules have changed to allow telescopic sights so I imagine micrometer sights have disappeared from use.
