Ah ya gotta love these long dead re-hashed posts...'Specially when you haven't already found them for yourself :)! I play (not with any degree of proficency), the Guitar, Tinwhistle, Irish Flute and Harmonica...But not all at the same time.
Some homemade whistles to go with the $500 or so worth of low to high end whistles already in the collection

Two of my three Guitars. The pale one on the left is a $1500 Maton. The classical is a middle of the road brand and the one not pictured is just a nice bash around cheapie that I sometimes carried with me on the motorbike.

I used to play the trumpet in a brass band, but my first love was always the guitar. As an exiled Paddy I love playing Irish ballads, but as I descended into my 40s I got into the blues and discovered open G tuning. Me and Robert Johnson and Muddy Waters are friends now. I was surprised at how versatile open G is and I now have two of my three tuned that way...
I have a simple Yamaha acoustic, a telecaster and a roundneck dobro.
Just picked up a ridgy-didge didgeridoo at the Vic Market in Melbourne last week. I had never played before, but am starting to get the hang of it.
I got a fair dinkum one that would have to be over 70 years old. Have you got the hang of circular breathing yet? I never could get it going in the right direction. Got it sussed real good the other way though, but that's no help with playing Didge :).

Yep, I think I'm just getting the hang of circular breathing. Part of the trick, I think, is maintaining enough back pressure while droning with just the cheeks and tongue while inhaling through the nose. Not really as hard as it sounds, more of a coordination thing. Also seems to have a bit to do with proper shaping of the wax mouth piece.
Does your Didge still play after 70 years? Good on ya if it does.
Sure does. I don't play it much though. I only get it out of the nice dry, dark wardrobe occassionally to entertain the kids with it, like my grandfather used to do with us when we were kids. And like I said, I don't have the knack of circular breathing, so play time is limited by the lungs. I should get, or make myself one to practice with more often. :)
