I make my own beer (well, some of it) and it's pretty fun. I always like experimenting with things of that nature. I load my own ammo, I make my own beer, once I buy that South American tobacco plantation, I'll be free from the BATFE at long last! :w
Yeah, I like making beer and really want to try making a traditional Flemish style ale along the lines of Orvel or Duchesse De Bourgogne!
We made another batch of kraut and are enjoying it on Reuben sandwiches!!
MMMmmm GOOD!
We are about to start our first gallon of mead. We'll let you know how it goes, if it explodes & how it eventually tastes. :w
Hey Spike, I learned about wine ,mead, and beer brewing from a countryman of yours (I assume)! His name is H.E. Bravery and he has published several books around the late 50's to the mid 60's containing formulas, and the "do's and dont's" of brewing! Pretty basic stuff, but great for a beginner!
Well, I've fermented wort into beer, and well, I've done some serious mashing too.. and taken it further... :p
Well, the must is made & yeast is pitched. Keep your fingers crossed for me & we might achieve mead! :D
OK. Pitched the yeast in last night, 18 1/2 hours ago. Am I right in thinking that there should be some activity in the pot? Because there most definitely is not. Any ideas what has gone wrong chaps?
