Heirlooms
They ain't much to look at, but I took receipt of my maternal grandfather's razor and his father's razor today. :y
My great grandfather's razor is in poor shape...lots of hone wear and the edge is far from straight. And despite a fair amount of hone wear, I think some work on my grandfather's razor will put it back into service. I don't have many family heirlooms, but these are keepers for sure.

The razor on the coffin is the razor belonging to my grandfather, and it's a Sterling. The other razor belonged to my great grandfather, and it's a Union Razor Cutlery Co. razor from Union City, GA.

Wow, that's awesome! I come from a long line of sharp object/shaving averse men, so no one had anything like that. My grandfather uses a BIC to this day:eek:

Thanks for sharing. Those are great pics!

Shoot, that hone wear isn't bad! The top razor has a bit of a frown, but that can be fixed quite easily!
I say restore them (or have em restored by someone here) and shave with em until you can pass em to your kids or whatever.

+ 1 those are both salvageable!!!!!

I haven't been on in awhile, but I appreciate the posts. I do plan on getting them restored, and while I hadn't planned on getting my great grandfather's razor restored, I think ya'll have convinced me to get it done.
