That is a real dog
They live vicariously through each other. The 120 lb Ridgeback wants to be a little lap dog and the 20lb Jack Russell wants so badly to be a giant scary thing.

Ha! Most terriors have small dog syndrome.
He was chasing a black vulture across the yard today. It set down on the lawn and he spied it and went tearing after it like the devil was after him. It of course flapped up away from him and was circling and he stood there barking his little butt off and clawing at the dirt kicking up big clods behind him. meanwhile his giant buddy is standing on the porch watching him like he's crazy

At long last, I have been adopted by a rescue pup! Got him at 9 weeks old (bottom picture) back in july. Top picture is a more recent photo.
His name is Bubbles and he is smart as a whip. Although, the most stubborn little guy you have ever met.
We have very little info about him, as he's a rescue with 16 other pups from a total of 3 females and 1 (very happy) male. No breed history on father and the mother is a "great pyrennes/golden mix". Based on weight at age intervals, body type and coloring, we guess the father was some kind of english shepard.
Aw. He looks like a nice little fellow. Some of the best dogs I've ever had were rescues. In fact my little Jack Russell terrier in the picture up above was a rescue. They wind up in rescues a lot because people get them because they're cute but don't know how to deal with them
I've always wondered what my Tobi would have looked like as a pup. He was around 5 years old when we came into each other's lives, so I'll never know for sure. But I strongly suspect Bubbles isn't far from the mark! My best guess for T's background is shepherd/husky/Bernese, and I wouldn't be surprised if Bubbles has some Bernese background as well. But as all of us who have rescued a friend know, none of that *really* matters. :)
Good on ya for getting yourself adopted. :tu
My neighbor across the street has a new puppy. He was loading him up to go to the vet for some of the puppy shots. Brought this to mind:
