    Default A dog to love

About two years ago I wrote in another thread about one granddaughter that is epileptic and challenged. My son and daughter in law raised the amount requested by an organization that trains dogs for epileptic people. They were told the first one chosen didn't work out. It took two years for the breeding program to finally have a winner.

His name is Naveen, 3/4 Poodle, 1/4 Lab. Can't think of a better mix for intelligence, training and devotion. They will be flying east shortly for two weeks training and then bring this little champion (in my eyes) home. Already cleared with the airline to ride passenger. May have a court battle with their school district about handlers.

Good things come to those that wait. For once I have to believe it.

My 2 new additions, bull terriers. The little one is Nina, 10 years old and the big one is Dude, 7 years old. I got them from a friend who took his own life a few weeks ago. Great dogs but trying to integrate them into a household with a 12 year old boxer who has always been the center of attention has been challenging.
    Have a great day!

I listened to the entire video! I find bulldogs to be absolutely adorable. They are a physiological abomination but they seem to be one of the most lovable breeds I ever have encountered. I never will own one but will continue to enjoy visiting them.

Mike, maybe you can get her into the U of I's sleep clinic and get her fitted for a CPAP machine!

Excellent news Richard, there's a Dog training center for these Dogs near me I often see the trainer handlers walking them, I have also spoken to a parent and owner of one of these special Dogs that's been trained for her autistic son, the Lady told me it's quite amazing how the dog can make her son focus and channel is otherwise slightly uncontroled outbursts and calm him right down.

Richard, it's a wonderful thing what this organization is doing for her & the dog will bring joy, love & happiness to the little girl, your son & daughter in law. I love people like this who go through the time & trouble to do such a wonderful thing for her & others. Two years is a long time but their devotion & determination sounds like they found the perfect match for her. I'm so happy this is finally going to happen. Should the school district have a problem with it, I have faith that something good will happen. If they don't, then it's all for the good. It's so amazing that such organizations like this one do these wonderful things to make peoples lives better. Good things come to those that wait. I believe in that. It just takes time in many cases. God works in mysterious ways but through love, belief, faith, understanding & much more these things can happen. I believe in miracles & there have been times that I thought something was impossible but I prayed to God & I was answered. It has happened many more times than one.
What is the name of this organization? I would like to make a contribution to them or to your son & his family to help recover some of the costs that they had to spend to accomplish this wonderful thing. My apologies for not writing this early this morning when I posted the video but I was already tired & couldn't have written this then but I knew where to find that video. I went to bed just moments later. I will keep your granddaughter in my prayers. I mean that from the bottom of my heart.

That's great Richard! He looks like a really great dog & I bet he'll love & be loved. I'm so happy for your granddaughter. Things will work out. I believe that. He definitely looks like an intelligent dog.

My dog always comes over to me & falls asleep on my feet so that if I move or get up, he knows it. He's such a smart dog. I think he understands every word I say also by the way he looks at me & starts licking me on my face. Here's a pic of him sleeping on my foot.
