I would have to say the blues family. Right I am using herbin's bleu nuit. It is a nice color. I like the way it starts out violet then dries to a nice blue/black.Here is a review I did on FPN.

These are my latest Fountain Pen scores
A Marlen Odyseus (numbered edition)
and a Sailor 1911 in stunning red with a magnificent fine nib and flow to match.
Very nice, Hutch. I don't have any Marlens, but they are great pens. I had a red Sailor 1911 with an XF nib. Sailors have some of the best nibs going nowadays. My wife liked it, which surprised me as she tends toward stub nibs. I got her a red 1911M for Christmas last year because she doesn't like oversized pens. She surprised me again when she told me she preferred the o/s 1911. So I swapped with her. I have enough o/s pens and the 1911M fits my pocket better.

I was about to check-out with my purchases, when the store owner showed me a couple of the Marlens, and I couldn't resist, so I bought it.
I agree the Sailor nib is just perfect, nice and fine, perfect flow and as smooth as butter.
The Marlen is beautiful but the nib is a little too wide and there is too much flow for me but I lucked out, we have a nib-meister that is local. I emailed him and he took my pen right away and I will be getting it back in the next couple of days with a fine nib and the flow to match.
Just curious, who's the nib meister?

Wow Tony thats just what I needed, another pen company to drool over. His stuff looks nice. Are they made one at a time by hand?
