Well after being in the razor buying mode for the last year.
I've got a good collection of pre war Gillette DE razors .
Also have a few straight razors along with hones, strop,brushes,soaps and a bunch of mugs.

Just when the wife thought my spending was about to slow down.
I click on a post where a guy is showing the fountain pen he made!!!!!
It was a work of art and a thing of beauty!!!
I remember finding a couple of fountian pens in the junk drawer when I was around 10 years old.
I played around with them till I ruined them by trying to make my own homemade ink:(
Never gave fountain pens any thought after that.

I could use some advice in what to look for and what to stay away from.
Looking for something that doesn't break the bank for my first pen.
Is there any that are worth buying for around $20??

Check out LAMY, they're decent no-frills german pens that can be had in the $20-40 range. Nothing spectacular but they work.
Also, watch Ebay.

Having, and shaving with, a straight razor is only one of the many aspects of being a "straight razor shaver". You need to be fully outfitted.
1. Razors
2. Scents
3. Music (Frank Sinatra, classical, opera, take your pick)

Beyond that there's a host of other things, you need fountain pens, cufflinks (and of course double-cuff shirts), and pipe smoking is a nice way to top off the image.
