I guess this doesn't count as a bicycle. More like a skateboard with brakes :p
I have a Cannondale Six13 slice Tri bike, a Trek 5200 road bike, an IRO single speed and a Harry Havnoonian Track bike that has brakes on it. The HH is my favorite and I use it as a commuter bike.
I should sell the IRO but I have a ridiculous sentimental attachment to it cause it was a my first track bike (it is now single speed but it does have the flip flop hub).
I just spent the weekend riding the hills up in New Paltz, NY with the Cannondale. Torturous good fun.
I can't believe I had not found this thread earlier.
I only ride a road bike, a Look kg386 all carbon with full campy group. My favorite is to ride 3-6 hours on the weekends. During the week I can only get in, between 40 minutes to an hour. That is enough since I ride in the morning (5:30 a.m.). The last couple of years I have only managed about 2,500 miles. Need to get back to 200 -250 miles a week.
I have been wanting to get a fixed gear for a while now, but with 2 small girls it seems that when I think I can devote more time to my cycling, they end up with another activity that I have to take them to. So I will wait a bit more, that works out cause I just started honing and have bought a few ebay specials that I can restore.

I used to do a lot of cross country riding when I was at school. Now I just use my bike to cycle to work, as well as the odd foray out on the weekend.
Its in the shop at the moment, being serviced, so I have to use the tube which is crowded and smelly, so a definate step backwards..! :D
Well I was able to get a ride in today. and here is a picture of my bike.

This is the latest in my stable. The limited edition Surly 1x1 "Rat Ride" 11 anniversary bike. A single speed with 24" large Marge rims and 3" Hoggy G tires bringing the circumference to the equivalent of a 26" wheeled bike. This is the only 1x1 Surly made without Canti studs enabling the use of the fatties. It was so beautiful I couldn't resist.
I got it at less than half of suggested retail in a buy it now/best offer. I offered $650 and to my surprise they accepted. Brand new when I got it. Took it out to the trail twice. Technical trails with lots of roots and logovers. The next morning I felt like someone beat me with a bat. :)
That is a cool ride, Jimmy. I really dig those slicks.
The bike has a definite hot rod look to it with those tires.
That bike is like a medieval torture device for trail riding.

I've got a chrome '73 Schwinn Paramount road bike that I've had kids in the neighborhood comment on when I've been riding by. "Cool bike", with a thumbs up more than once. This 'Rat Ride' thing is tough to ride with those heavy tires. A real workout on road and especially on the trail. I'm going to build a 26" singlespeed rear and use a spare 26" front for trail riding. I'll put some knobbyies on it and it should be a lot quicker and more nimble going over all of those obstacles and through the dirt. Not half bad for a 61 year old fellow to be able to push a singlespeed through dirt. :)Quote:
