I'm blessed as my father loved Bluegrass & Country and my mother loved what she called 'Boogie Woogie' and so I appreciate all kinds of music.

Just watching this video was a joy and at the same time a heartbreak.

While I may have missed some, I know that the following who were in that video are no longer with us. All were great performers and caring human beings.

Billy Fury-Quite the big deal in the UK once upon a time (early-mid 60's). Died in 1983 of Rheumatic fever complications..sigh.

Maybe it's because they were the first real band I saw live back in the mid-80s, or maybe it's because I just need an occasional Texas blues-rock kick in the butt, but every once in a while I have a powerful need to go back to that little ol' band from Texas to shake the cobwebs loose. Today is one of those days. :)
