Vera Lynn passed away today at the age of 103. She was very popular with the troops who she entertained in WW2.
Here's one of her most loved songs. Queen Elisabeth II used part of Lynn's lyrics in her message to her subjects to help them through this Corona virus situation----'We'll meet again'-------

Wow, that isolation version of "Black Water" is one of the most uplifting things I've heard in awhile. And I had never heard of Vera Lynn-she was a beautiful lady with a beautiful voice.
I saw the Doobie Brother's 'First' Farewell tour around '75-'76 at the old Spokane Colosseum which held 20K people and was sold out and when they did Black Water the singer was alone on a stool in darkness with a single spotlight on him. The song went along and when he got to the part of 'I want to hear some funky Dixie Land pretty momma come and take me by the hand, the entire audience was ready to start clapping their hands when-----------------------------the spotlight swung to a corner where a quartet started playing Dixie Land Jazz! Cool story, Roy-Do you or anyone else remember when the Doobie Brothers were on the 70's show "What's Happening," and did a live performance of "Cheat the Hangman" , and Jeff "Skunk"Baxter doing that incredible solo with smoke and fire/light effects to close the show? I loved that, but can't find it on YouTube.
