It's late and I'm off to bed, but I do hope that everyone will like this--

Had to share this one. What a wonder we lost years ago...

Our friend Mister Clean is one of Jimmy Vaughn's very best friends. He said that years ago when the two of them were going out Stevie would want to come along and they were like (Get out of here kid).
Stevie only had one drummer--Chris Layton. He said that he was playing along with 'someones record' and he noticed some cowboy boots tapping along with the beat. When he saw that it was Stevie and Stevie said: Hey man, you wanna play with me? And he said F**K Yes!
I posted this before, but it's around 1980 and Stevie, Chris and the bass player were playing on a tractor trailer. It's starts out a bit slow, but then---Well the video shows the genius.

In case anyone thinks that the Freddie and Jimmie story is bogus, here's a picture of them together--

Drinking and smoking on Youtube. This thing lasts a whole beer (except where you pause to go pee....) It gets pretty good!

In 1983 I was listening to the radio and they said, free concert at the University of Florida Bandshell. It was some band I had never heard of but they called the guy "the new Jimi Hendrix." Well, of course I liked Jimi as you would expect, and it was free so I figured, why not. We went out to the field, got there nice and early and got a good chunk of grass and from just out of spitting distance watched Stevie Ray for free. I couldn't believe what I was watching; I mean he really blew my mind. What an incredible talent. The world lost a great deal when he died.
Stevie sure knew his bidness....Legend has it he was so strong, he cracked the neck on this borrowed 12-string on this song.

I believe it! We got to meet Robin Trower about 10 years ago...

He is this very slight guy with skinny arms but when I shook his hand he had a grip like a bear trap.
Speaking of incredible talents. A guitarist that is worth seeing is Buckethead. My son took me to see him twice. I am not really into metal but the guy was another mind blower to watch. Both times we were right up against the stage. What a spectacle it is because he is so robotic and has those same treefrog fingers like Jimi did so his reach is phenomenal. Plus I think he is 6'6" and wears the hockey mask and with the bucket on his head he looks like 6 foot 50.
Anyway, that guy plays so fast and unreal complicated stuff. Technical skill-wise he is a monster. Also he plays a bunch of different kinds of stuff. It's worth a watch just to behold.

This is one of the shows we went to. The dill weed that filmed it was right next to us. You can see at one point he takes a bucket off my son's head and puts it on top of his.
I could check great guitarists all day and not get a thing done.
One of my faves is Seasick Steve. Makes a guitar out of most anything. 1, 2 3 strings. Whatever!
Plenty entertaining dude.
