I really like fountain pens. Unfortunately, I just don't have the opportunity to use one very often.

Real ink pens, real razors...a lot in common. They require attention and bring you into the moment of action. I use one daily for the most part because it forces me to attend to writing instead of tossing off an illegible note.
I found a new one being made by TWISBI. There are any number of reviews on ebay where they are sold and in the fountain pen places that parallel SRP. The reason I bring this one up is that it was designed by pen users and the company included all those recommended, like being able to do maintenance yourself without requiring experience in pen disassembly or restoration. The feature set is quite good for the price and is about 40 USD which meets the thread question criteria started by RVM. My impression is that it's a good daily writer with the better quality inks (Private Reserve) that are needed to keep some of the fussier pens in my collection running well.
I've been using this one for a few months and really like it. It's huge but still user-friendly.

Ive been thinking about picking up a rollerball for around 30-40 because the way I write makes any math notes I take impossible to read with a fountain pen. Any suggestions?
For writing quickly, I find an extra fine nib helps alot. Something like a Hero 329 is cheap, but writes very well... a perfect note taking pen for me.Quote:

I've been writing with a fountain pen for years. Mainly a Cross Townsend and a Parker Flighter. Recently I've had an urge to upgrade and get something a little more classy. I didn't want something too big, I wanted a converter / cartridge ink system and I wanted a fine nib. After wading through some fountain pen forums I decided that the Delta Dolce Vita Oro fitted the bill. Anyway, with the help of a sniper, I was able to pick this up on ebay for a great price. It's a bit blingy for my usual conservative style but I thought that the colour was amazing.
