One day when flying through Memphis, I asked one of the "locals" if the BBQ in the airport restaurant I was eating in was any good to which he replied, "of course"... Obviously, he ain't local because it was horrible. Memphis BBQ is something to experience, but don't expect it at the airport :rofl2:

I'd have to say Red Beans and Rice or a Roast Beef Debris Po' Boy from Mother's in New Orleans. Now if I could find a way for the Sazerac Bar in the Roosevelt Hotel down there to ship Sazeracs or Old Fashioneds, I'd be set. I make a pretty fair Old Fashioned, but it's not the same

I miss Morel mushrooms from my home state of Michigan.They're outrageously expensive here in Colorado and a pack of dried morels from the store is a kings ransom.Although I suppose I could find some and have'em shipped,I more wish I could have my own private little woods that I could go and pick some out of at will....a man can dream right ? Morels sauteed in a little butter...Heaven !! :cry:

When I lived in Houston, TX, I had Dutch cigars shipped to me from the Netherlands. Affordable American cigars are crap IMHO, nice cigars too expensive due to US reliance on Middle American, non-Cuban tabaccos. Unfortunately many got mauled in transit.

Sort of off topic, but I order Cactus Cooler from a place in CA sometime. It is a Canada Dry soft drink that we just can get in the Midwest.
Just in case your wondering, it is a tangerine/pineapple flavor.

Another thing that on which I'm tempted to splurge, but just can't bring myself to do: Stoney Tangawizi. It's a "ginger ale on steroids" soft drink manufactured in Kenya by Coca Cola. For some bizarre reason they won't sell it in the US, although you can sample it at World of Coke in Atlanta and at EPCOT.

I found someone who will import it, but for an absurd price. I just guess I'll have to wait until I go to Africa again. Oh well...

There is nothing like a true vine ripened tomato and
they grow well on an apartment's patio.

The other bit is how you care for them. Refrigeration
is less than ideal...

A friend of mine brings me a yearly shot of Beef Jerky, Kool-Aid and sometimes (if I'm a good boy) Root Beer.

i have banana flavoured snapple sent in.. they no longer sell it in southern california.. however.. it only runs $18 a case.. so it ends up being cheaper than if i were to purchase it on the shelf by the bottle.

Many times I have thought about calling the Sandwich Shop in Philly for my fix. Just can not get a good one down here.
