I had to open my jar of Latikia and take a whiff. I am trying to imagine Cherries.
I would try it at least once!:rofl2:

Hmm, I thought I used almost every tobacco product and or nicotine delivery device available. Cigs, Cigars, Pipes, E-cigs, Chaw , Dip, Plug etc. But not snuff at least the kind that goes up the nose. What gives, this one seems the most exotic. How is this a pleasurable tobacco product? How does it work? How is the flavor experience? Will it piss off my sinuses and make me sneeze for half an hour. I might give it a go but it seems a bit weird. What are your thoughts?
It has been said that snuff taking is one the oldest forms of tobacco use...A good sneeze could come of it and most likely will, but it's not a sneeze that is unpleasable...Basically the way it works is (this is my way)... Take a small pinch, hold it to your nostril and sniff gently... You want the snuff to rest in the nose, not behind the eye ball or in the back of the throat...Keep a tissue nearby you'll want to blow at some point...Shoot me a PM or Spacemonkeyjon one, I'm sure between the two of use we can get you something you would like to try...
I enjoy a healthy pinch every now and then, esp when the sinuses are acting up. Nothing helps like a pinch of mentholated like Hedges!
My town was formed around a now out of business snuff mill. Apparently, Helme was one of, if not the, biggest snuff producers in the US. They are in the process of converting the beautiful brick mill into condos. Nice way to get a second life out of a nice building.
I was so prompted too. Long time Garrett fan here. Like the sweet first and follow up later with scotch. I've tried other favors and such but I come back to Garrett. Learning how to take it in is key to the level of enjoyment like shooting good whiskey vs. sipping/savoring it.

Garrett was one of my first snuffs and is still a favorite. .. nosewarmer sent me my fist sample about a year ago . Now I always keep some on hand
I've been off the snuff for about 9 months due to a "bad" mixture... Red Bull and another German Schmalzler... Not an experience I want again...
Anyway, the weather is cooler and the aromas come through better for me this time of year, so tonight is a pinch of "Crumbs of Comfort", very nice "Minty" aroma...
The Red Bull I speak of...

Thanks for the clarification. I was thinking of a heart pounding caffeine/nicotine buzz....
My great Aunt "dipped" Bruton snuff by putting it in her lip with a spoon. This was many years before I remember seeing Copenhagen and others on the market. I never tried powder snuff personally but don't get why she used it like that...
My understanding is that people would just use it like "dip" but they would use a moist stick and suck on it... I think more to coat the cheek...
There is all kinds of "snuffing" techniques...
Another use from what I have read is "Dental Snuff" kind of tobacco infused toothpaste that you "smear" on the gums... More of an Asian thing...
Always thought about trying WE gerett sweet like that but alway talk myself out of it
For those who do are not familiar with snus. I haven't used it personally for at least decades but borrowed this tin from my son to take a pic. He (like many others) learned to use it while in the military and has been using ever since.
Now there's two kinds of snus: loose and portion. People who use snus it put an amount (loose) or small bag (portion) behind the upper lip. With the loose snus they use sort of syringe called icetool (Finnish), primaster (swedish) or cannon (estonian). Messy stuff with the loose snus anyway.
Ironically, the selling of the snus got illegal several years ago. After such decision it became more popular than ever. Many ex-smoker uses it nowadays and even many who have never smoked. Black markets are huge.
Buying or importing is not legal. I could buy it from Sweden enough for the rest of my days and import it here; only selling is illegal.
Of the people i work with i know that is is popular with the folks from military, coast guards and cops. Also teens and athletics use it widely. Etc etc.
There are several places that sell it from under the disk in the city. I find it sort of ironic that it's usually cops that make a big group in their customers.
What was the point in making a law that everyone thinks it's joke. Even those whose job is to protect the laws. Little by little politicians have learned to realize that they made a fool of themselves, so propably the law will change some day in the future.

Tomi,
Being a smokeless tobacco user, I have tried the Swedish Snus Style... I can attest that I tend to like the American style better... However, I do use General Brand on occasion...
I have bought a few brand of the Swedish that is "loose" however, I was surprised what "loose" consisted of... It's almost like mud.
I bought a plunger and some portion pouches, but to me it hindered the flavor and texture.
Flashback time.... I started using in junior high. :nono:
Therefore I tend not to spit. The teachers never noticed or said anything. But if they would have I wonder what it would feel like to poop a bag????:rofl2:
I must be in a reminiscing mood...
A cool old coot named George was a short scrawny guy with a taller big wife Dorthy. Anyway,,, he always wore his pants rolled up at the cuff and whenever he came over to visit or was inside he would spit into the cuff of his pants. Dorthy must have loved him when it came time for laundry! :rofl2:
I have tried the sniffing snuff years back when I was in the Navy. A buddy got it from the tobacco shop local and it was from Eu somewhere. It was very potent and pungent mint and I dipped the tip of my pocket knife in and gave it a good honk and it was almost instant of getting a nice little nic hit and it running down the back of my sinus to my throat. It was pretty good.
Attachment 221753 picked this heart wood box up the other day at a local shop believe it or not . Works like a charm
