The Cat Enjoys Watching Straight Shaving

My wife and I moved into an apartment about a month ago with our cat Alex. As most people know, cats are really curious and get into about anything. In the morning, Alex is totally infatuated with the coffee maker, but is even more excited by straight razor shaving! It's become a routine for him. He hears the stropping and knows that he can come and sit up near the sink and watch the whole process. I'll get some photo evidence on here as soon as I can.

If I know cats, he's just watching and waiting very patiently for the best chance to pounce on you while you're shaving so as to do the most damage to you.

Nothing like sharing quality time with a good buddy:)

Happily my Great Danes never showed any interest in that. That could have been messy;)

I never met a cat I didn't like. Here is mine, no interest in my shaving or grooming. He allows me to live here as long as I feed him on time and keep his litter box clean. :whipped:Attachment 67648

Jimmy, looks like he's thinking "Get that thing outta my face and make with the dinner already!" Seriously, though, that does look like a stern kitty.

the worse cuts I've gotten have been because i was shaving under my sideburns and my cat decided he was tired of being ignored and bit the top of my foot. This happened not once but twice...in the same day. I had matching slices about inch and half long half inch under my sideburns. Needless to say hes not allowed in the bathroom while i shave anymore.

My cat, Buddy, looks like Alex's brother without the black spot on his nose or the goatee. Like most old gentlemen, him and I are into routine. He follows me into the shave cave in the morning and 1. Supervises my "time sensitive activity" then 2. Waits patiently while I turn on the water for him (surely you don't expect him to endure the indignity of drinking from a bowl.) 3. While I strop my razor he drinks the running water and on warmer mornings lets the water run down the side of his face before it enters his mouth. 4. When I'm done with the stropping he waits patiently for me to open the door and let him out. He's not real keen to observe the rest of the process as it generally involves a room full of steam as I jump in the shower. He is however very keen to watch and enjoy the smell of me smoking my pipe. I think in a past life he must have been a bearded old man who constantly smoked a pipe and was not a big fan of shaving. He'll strain to get closer to the smoke and enjoy the smell. When my wife smokes cigarettes around him, he can't get away quick enough but he'll gladly watch me and smell the pipe smoke all the way through a bowl of codger burley.

Here is my cat. And I'm sure, he don't like shaving.:D
