The Bearded one talks of smart fruit!

Firstly forgive my long abscence,

Secondly forgive this post for not technically regarding shaving....

Currently i am bearded...yes, i know. Heathen.

However, my ebenholz waits silently and patiently for the day, gonna be able to get one more shave before i send her off for her first honing, i want her to have a good time before we part, hence the beard.

As the bearded one i feel it is my duty to pass on this information for i for one feel it is priceless.

Have any of you out there in cyberworld ever suffered from plantar warts, those painful -pebble esque, annoyances that plague the sole of the foot. Well fear no more...i have a cure, could be classed as a miracle cure. After trying all sorts of pharmaceutical aids to rid myself of this terrible affliction after seven years, the wart laughed at my feeble attempts to extricate it from my soul. However, the solutions to my problem escaped me...short of applying a straight razor to the affected area or just chopping off my foot (which was one of the more severe things the web suggested) the answer to my woe was supplied.

And what is, pretell, i hear you say....this miracle cure?

Banana Peel...unripe banana peel, cut a piece, lay it on the wart, duct-tape it to your foot and change daily. After 3 weeks i have significant reduction and hardly any pain, i reckon in another fortnight i shall finally be rid of this burden.

Forgive the small reference to razors as the only tenous link to this actually belonging on this forum as a topic at all, however for those of you out there, hobbling your way through your days...this is a miracle cure and a healthy and tasty one at that!

Hmmm, when I first read the part about warts and straight razors I thought this was going to be about self-surgery. Glad it wasn't because I just finished brunch...

I think you should have used a corn razor.

Yes, peel or fruit side?? My wife has suffered one for 20 years. They reduce it, it comes back. We've tried everything in 20 years believe me. Never tried banana peel.

Hey there, might seem a bit far fetched, like the old wives got together and invented this but it IS working for me. cut a small area of peel just enough to cover the wart and place it fruit side over the wart.

This is the way that i do it.

First you gotta make sure that your banana is unripe, the greener the better. pummice the wart so that all the dead skin is removed. Then take a piece of the peel straight from the banana, i cut a small circle about a 5p in size, not sure about US coin size but just enough to cover the wart. you dont need any of the actual fruit on the peel, i tend to cut away the edible stuff and just have raw peel. (but make sure the banana is as green as you can get)
Then place the peel, fruit side against the wart. then i add a bit of duct tape, then add a piece of kitchen roll around the foot and secure it with some more tape (masking tape) the kitchen roll stops any skin abrasions from the tape. As i walk alot for my work i need to keep it secure so this part is optional.
The science behind it apparently is that the enzyme that naturally turns a banana black is very potent against the wart and the high levels of potassium in the peel reacts with the warts connection to the nerves and blood vessels in the foot. replace the peel daily or twice daily, but do it instantly. the wart allegedly breathe oxygen and it helps to keep it suffocated, so remove your old banana, shower and replace asap!
All i can say is that i have had this painful thing on my foot now for 7 years or so within 3 weeks of the 'smart fruit' method i have no pain in the area and can see great improvement, im going to continue for the foreseeable future.
I know that SRP is not really the place for this but please keep me informed of your progress if you decide to try it.

FYI, Plain duct-tape also does the trick. No Banana required. And this isn't just an old wive's trick, it's been publicized in a medical journal (I can't remember which one though, I'd have to ask my doctor.)

My wife had warts for YEARS. She went through all kinds of methods, our doctor pretty much said she'd be stuck with them. Until he read about the duct tape trick.

It took about 1-2 months to get rid of everything. (I'll have to ask her to be sure, I can get back to you guys on the exact time frame)

Then I told the duct tape trick to a friend who was also cursed with warts for years. Same thing, she's wart free today.

If you guys don't want to try the banana thing, just stick a piece of duct tape and see what happens.
